HOW COACHING WORKS
Coaching is a thought-provoking process established between coach and client that helps clients connect with your core values, explore possibilities for change, and uncover barriers that may be preventing change and ultimately improve a habit area that clients desire to change (Habit Change Company®).
The International Coaching Federation™ defines Coaching as partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.
The relationship between the coach and client is based on creating a safe, supportive environment built on trust and mutual respect. As coach, we use skill and powerful questions to uncover a client’s vision and desired path for change including those involving risk and fear of failure. This creative process partners coach and client in a way that works to inspire the client to maximize their potential in exploring opportunities for growth and change.
In Coaching, the client sets the agenda and establishes a clear goal for the coaching arrangement. The Coach acts as collaborator in working together to explore options for change and invites the client to look inward using their creatively and resourcefulness to change behaviors. As coach we ask powerful questions that challenge our clients’ thinking and move them toward greater self-awareness and where they want to be. Together we co-create an alliance that works to identify what success looks like and develop a clear plan to get there.

The International Coaching Federation (ICF) summarizes the role of coach as follows:
“Through the process of coaching, coaches help clients deepen their learning, improve their performance and enhance their quality of life. In each meeting, the client chooses the focus of conversation, while the coach listens and contributes observations and questions. This interaction creates clarity and moves the client into action. Coaching accelerates the client’s progress by providing greater focus and awareness of choice. Coaching concentrates on where clients are now and what they are willing to do to get where they want to be in the future.
ICF member coaches and ICF credentialed coaches recognize that results are a matter of the client’s intentions, choices and actions, supported by the coach’s efforts and application of the coaching process.”

We begin with an assessment to understand strengths and weaknesses and create an alliance that works together on what’s most important for each client. We understand that each person’s journey is unique and different and my focus works to challenge you to discover the answers your already have inside yourself. One on one private confidential coaching sessions are conducted via phone and are scheduled around our client’s availability.
Coaching is not about what the Coach delivers, but what the Client creates.
